John A. Tweddle Residence

John A. Tweddle Residence (1913-1914) – 1726 6 AV NW (Hillhurst)

The John A. Tweddle Residence, built 1913-14, represents the extension of residential development north of the Bow River during Calgary’s first population boom of 1907-13 and of the development of Hillhurst, one of Calgary’s earliest neighbourhoods north of the river. (Symbolic Value, Community Significance)

The house is a Craftsman bungalow—a familiar style in the neighbourhood, with good examples of exterior and interior characteristics. (Style Value, Community Significance)
